We are asked about sealing granite counter tops by almost every client as if there if some mystery to this task.

Good news, it’s not a mystery. It’s a simple task the most anyone can accomplish.

Your local hardware store will most likely have a suitable product, and the application is so simple I’m quite certain I could train a chimpanzee to do it.

Here is an article that will help extend the life of your water heater.

Hot water tank replacement

What is the typical lifespan of a water heater?

A standard water heater will last between eight and twelve years.  Most tanks today are steel lined with glass or porcelain and over time can oxidize and deteriorate.  Most tanks will eventually leak – in some cases it will be a slow leak and in some cases it will be a more dramatic leak.  For this reason it is a good idea to know where your dedicated water shutoff valve is located.

Although it is not common, there are homeowners that will see fifteen and in some cases twenty years of useful life from their water heater.  Although, it is important to keep in mind, that although a water heater may still be working, most water heaters decrease in efficiency over time as sediment builds up inside the tank.

Tankless water heaters can last two to three times longer than a traditonal tank as long as the home owner cares for the tankless unit properly.

Do The Math

May 17, 2011

Interesting true story my wife Deborah heard today.

A gentleman shared a story where he hired a handyman for a simple one hour job at $40.00 per hour.

The handyman charged him for one hour, then came back to fix his faulty work and charged him another hour, then came back a third time to fix his faulty work and charged him for one more hour.

The gentleman stated that if he would have used Maui Handy Pro, he would have only paid $65.00, instead of  $120.00.
